AUTUMN SHOW 2014

Our 2014 Autumn Show and Plant Sale was held three weeks later than usual on Saturday, October 11th. There were 227 entries across 80 classes – see the 2014 Autumn Show Schedule here.

The afternoon was a sociable affair, with tea, coffee and home-made cake on offer. Plants and produce that had been donated were for sale, plus plants from local nursery Entwood Farm and greetings cards.

The afternoon was rounded off with Cup presentations from Society president Beryl Denham and a presentation by chairman Jenny Harding of £700 to Mrs Ethelston’s School Building Fund, a sum raised at the society’s summer show.

There were a few surprise winners, not least the Mrs Thomas Cup for home produce – a section of the show usually dominated by lady contestants – won for the first time ever by a man, Rob Harvey, with runner up… another man, Hugh Corbin.
